Three Day Weekend Ahead

Being that it’s a Friday before a three day weekend, I am sure many of us are feeling that much more antsy to get this show on the road, me included! Today’s Best Reads of the Week will hopefully come in handy over the next few days when you find yourself with a little extra down time to catch up on your reading. I am going to take a blogging break Monday, but will be back Tuesday with a new post. Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!

Best REads of the Week

Yummy Food!

Zoodles and Meatballs (zucchini noodles) via Skinny Taste

I always love new healthy ideas for meatballs and ‘noodles’! I have a ton of frozen zucchini ‘noodles’ in my freezer and may need to give this recipe a try!

Crispy Buttermilk Baked Chicken + Corn Bread Biscuit Sliders via How Sweet Eats

If the name itself doesn’t get you, make sure you check out the pictures. I was definitely hungry by the time I finished reading this post! I am pretty sure Tim would pass out from pure joy if I made this for him on a lazy Sunday afternoon during football season!

Honey Almond Chia Granola via Making Thyme for Health

Honey Almond Chia Granola 13

Anything granola seems to catch my attention, and the fact that I already have all the ingredients listed on hand makes this recipe that much more loved by me!

Home & Living

House Crashing: Perky & Personal via Young House Love

I liked this post because the house reminds me a little bit of my own – It began as a more cookie cutter version, but is progressively taking on a more creative and personal look.  This house has loads of character!

Fashion & Style

Primp Tip: The Smart Girl’s Guide to Bangs via Lauren Conrad

Primp Tip: The Smart Girl's Guide to Bangs

With fall basically here, I have been starting to think about what I want to do to my hair this autumn. I am not sure if I am leaning toward bangs because I know how much maintenance they can be, but I am interested to hear what y’all think about this trend? Yay or Nay?

Life Lessons

Growing Up vs. Not Growing Up via Housewife Glamour

Happy Quote

I loved this post by Heather! I feel like she does a lot of the time – torn between growing up and staying young. At 24, I feel like I have accomplished a ton including marriage, buying a house, graduating college, adopting a puppy, etc. However, sometimes I get wrapped up in ‘what’s next’ – dream job, babies, etc. – and forget to appreciate the present moment. Some days I wake up and feel more like 17 than 24, but I am thankful to have come a long way since then. Even with a lot still to learn, I feel wiser, smarter and more mature with every decision I make and experience I have. Life is crazy sometimes that’s for sure, but the beauty of that is it always keeps me on my toes!

How I Got a New Job via Sweet Miles

I just wanted to give a big shout out to my friend Sarah on her new job! This post is a good reminder for all of us to never doubt ourselves and our abilities to learn new skills and start a new path.
