This weekend was busy yet fun; pretty much how I describe all of my weekends! Friday night, Tim and I had a date night thanks to an anniversary gift from my mom and dad. I wore what seems to be my uniform: jeans, vest, boots and button up!
We had a Cheesecake Factory gift card so we went for dinner and were even able to eat outside on a chilly fall evening because the heaters kept us nice and warm. There is just something that feels so special to me about eating outside. It can make any meal feel that much more important and memorable. Having that option to enjoy our meal and company of each other outdoors in the fall was awesome! I had a few bites of the pumpkin pecan cheesecake, which is one of my absolute favorites but it is only available during the fall, so I obviously had to take advantage of it being that it is October! Pretty dark picture, but it tasted so good!
Saturday morning we walked in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk with Tim’s family. Even Tebow joined in on the cause!
After the walk, we headed straight to Tim’s parents’ house for brunch. We left about 2:00 pm, swung by my parents’ house for a bit to say hi, and then headed home to catch up on housework while watching a little football. I also had a wreath order I was working on; three mini versions of my ‘Rustic Fall’ Wreath.
There is just something so cute about anything mini, adorable! I haven’t updated my Etsy shop in awhile, but I have been working on some wreaths behind the scenes. I am hoping to update it soon when I find a free moment, but it has just been on the back burner with all of the other things going on in my life including my 8-5 job, freelance writing and television segment. I truly enjoy making the wreaths, but keeping my Etsy shop up-to-date is a little less fun! I haven’t sold any in the actual shop, but I make wreaths for people I know, many who like to use the wreaths online as inspiration pieces, which seems to work well for me right now. Eventually I would love to see the Etsy shop become more of a business platform, but right now I am only making a couple at a time and that is perfect since I have had other priorities to put first!
Sunday was a catch-up day, which included a lot of errands, blog writing and maintenance, freelance writing and picture taking, and even work on another special surprise (details to come very soon once it’s confirmed)! We also went to the grocery to purchase items on our meal plan for the next couple of weeks. Here is our meal plan for this week, which actually includes four Dashing Dish meals and a snack! I didn’t even realize how many of her recipes I am planning on making of hers until I wrote out this meal plan. In my opinion though, her website is worth every penny of the $5 a month subscription fee! Plus, since I do spend money on her site, I try and use her website that much more often. I enjoy making a ton of her recipes though because they are quick, budget friendly, healthy and delicious. All amazing adjectives in my book!
Meal Plan October 21st – October 27th
Monday – Crockpot ‘Clean Eating’ Chicken Cordon Blue with Roasted Cauliflower
Tuesday – Hawaiian Crock Pot Pulled Sliders (I am using shredded ham from the freezer that my mom gave me in place of the pork)
Wednesday – Loaded Baked Potato Crockpot Soup (Again, I am throwing in some ham so that Tim has a little meat! I don’t mind vegetarian, but Tim prefers dishes with meat so I try and compromise with him to make both of our tummies happy. For example, the soup may be light, but at least there is ham in it!)
Thursday – Leftovers
Friday – Crockpot Chicken Taco Chili with Cornbread (This cornbread recipe is mine and I plan on sharing it Friday! It is a recipe for Pumpkin Cornbread – Perfect for fall and to serve alongside a steaming bowl of chili)!
Saturday – To Be Decided
Sunday – Homemade Pizza topped with mushrooms, diced tomato, green pepper fresh mozzarella and turkey sausage (I make the whole wheat crust in my bread maker)
Snack for the Week – Clean Eating Caramel Apple Snack Cake
