Thanksgiving Hostess with the Mostest

With Thanksgiving just a couple days away, I am sure many of us are transitioning into the preparation phase that comes along with the holidays. Since I will be working Wednesday and won’t have much time in the evening, making a list of what I want to do and make is a key to staying organized…and sane! This year my goal is to enjoy the process of the holiday rather than feeling overwhelmed by the stress that can accompany this ‘most wonderful time of the year.’

During the holiday season especially, many of us (myself included!) put a lot of pressure on ourselves to create the perfect holiday meal, or decorate the table and house just right. This year, let’s make it a goal to enjoy more and worry less. Trust me, nothing makes me happier than a gorgeous table setting and a plethora of made-from-scratch eats at Thanksgiving. We can cook, and bake, and decorate to our heart’s content, however, if we run out of time to whip up that pumpkin pie from scratch or forget to decorate the table complete with name cards, stacked china, and autumn bouquets galore, I promise that Thanksgiving will still go on and the memories with those you love will still be just as sweet!

This year I decided to take a bit of the research and planning work out of the equation for you so that you have more time to relax and soak in the holiday season! Below is a Thanksgiving round-up with some of the most delicious recipes, pretty tablescapes, and hosting tips and tricks that I could find. Remember though to use these ideas as encouragement for your own Thanksgiving celebration, but know that you can only do what you can! Do not compare; instead become inspired!

  6. Great roundup! I’m lucky in that my husband and I are both the babies of the family, so the likelihood that we’ll ever have to host something is slim to none. My aunt and mom rotate every other year, one does Thanksgiving, one does Christmas. This year, my aunt has Thanksgiving. Then, later in the day, we’ll go over to my in-laws.
