Grateful.

The past few days have been the epitome of a classic December weekend in my eyes:

  • Snow falling
  • Christmas decorating
  • Gift shopping
  • Holiday movie watching
  • Hot cocoa and tea drinking
  • Festive wreath creating
  • Present wrapping
  • And the list goes on and on!

Sunday’s Elf 4 Health challenge was to create a Gratitude List.  Just like the Makeup-Free Challenge, this was another one of my favorites!  As busy as December and the holiday season can be, I think it is so important to take the time to write out a  list of life blessings.  Seeing everything I have to be grateful for on paper always serves as a great reminder on days when I may be feeling blue, or nothing seems to be going the way it was planned.  It is always an eye opening experience that leaves me feeling quite thankful for my life, no matter what kind of day I may be having!

Here are just a few things that made my Gratitude List:

  • Topping my Gratitude List is definitely my Faith in God.  I am so incredibly thankful to live in a country where we are free to worship and praise God in our own way and I simply pray that right is always available to us.  Never ever take your freedom of religion for granted!
  • My sweet husband!

bride and groomOur relationship is not perfect and we have been through our share of hard times in the past 10 years, but we are truly perfect for one another.  He balances out my planned side, and I structure his go-with-the-flow attitude.  As different as we are from one another, we just ‘get’ each other and I think that is why our relationship works so well!  Tim loved me when I was 15 years old and he still loves me at 25, so I would say that is definitely something I am grateful for!

  • Tebow!

Tebow on a Walk Oh my goodness I just love this sweet dog so much!  He gets a little rambunctious sometimes of course, but boy oh boy does he bring laughter and joy into our home.  I don’t think he has a mean bone in his entire body and there is nothing he loves more than running, playing, eating and getting his belly rubbed!  If you are ever needing a little happiness in your life, adopt a dog!

  • Family

family-015 family-018 I am so incredibly thankful for both mine and Tim’s families!  As I have gotten older, I have realized how important it is to be close to those who will always be there no matter what.

  • Friends

bridal party I just love my sweet, gorgeous girlfriends so much!  I have been so blessed to have a large group of true, genuine friends that I know I can always rely on and that will always be there for me!  Nothing makes me laugh and relax more than a laid-back wine night with my girls!

  • My Home
  • My Health
  • My Family’s Health
  • Financial Blessings
  • Blogging
  • Mine and Tim’s Jobs
  • Vacations
  • The Ability to Exercise

That is definitely the short list!  There is so much to be grateful for!

Before I go, I just wanted to share a few snowy pictures of Tebow from this past weekend.  If anyone is in need of a smile for the day, look no further than a playful pup in the snow.  He was loving life!

Love the gratitude list. The list is a great reminder of all of the blessings we have each and every day. Great reminder. Great practice.

Ha ha for sure! If you ever need a smile, just check out a lab in the snow! 😉 Their playfulness and happiness is literally contagious!

  4. I think that’s so cute you and your husband have been together for so long 🙂 My ex-boyfriend and I were together for 8 years (15-23 years old). I must say, I’m a much different person than I was back then! Our weekend was very low-key as my husband is sick with the cold/flu. He even got a shot this year and I didn’t so I’m hoping not to get it! We’re in El Paso and the weather was in the 40’s this weekend, but sunny. I seem only miss the Midwest winters before Christmas- afterwards I’m completely ready for Spring! My gratitude list is very similar to yours 🙂 It’s nice to actually think about all of the blessing we have in life a few times a week so we truly appreciate them.

I am absolutely a much different person now than I was back when Tim and I first started dating! Thankfully, we grew together instead of a part! Sounds like your path worked out exactly the way it was supposed to though as well! 🙂

So happy we have a similar gratitude list too! I definitely tried to hit the biggest points, but I am thankful for so many things it is hard to include it all!

  5. Greta list 🙂 Your pup looks a lot like my Morgan <3

Ahh I know! Usually large snowfalls like that are reserved for February in our city, but it was nice to have a little bit of a ‘white Christmas’, although it probably won’t be around by the time the actual holiday arrives lol!

  7. Your weekend looks like my life over the past week or so and I’m loving every minute of it! I’m obsessed with the holidays. 🙂 We got our first snow this past weekend. I love it but hate driving in it!
