Friday Favorites: The Must-Have Sweater

Happy Friday everyone! I hope all of you have some fun weekend plans ahead!

Before diving into today’s Friday Favorites post, I thought I would share a few Friday Thoughts as well…

This week has definitely been a crazy one for me… Crazy, but awesome!

There is a lot going on in my life right now and I am not going to lie, it can be a bit stressful at times keeping up with it all. However, I continue to remind myself that everything happening is also such a blessing! Isn’t it so strange how we can get stressed when there are not only negative things happening, but also when great things are taking shape as well? Go figure!

After reading Ashley’s post yesterday, which then sent me to read this post too, I was once again reminded to simply breathe and be present in the moment I’ve been given. Before I know it, this stage of my life will be over and I will be onto the next. The last thing I want to do is look back and wish I just would have paused and soaked it all in rather than instead wondering what the next day would bring.

I had the tendency to always look ahead during my youth, teen and college days, but I am now truly making an effort to not look ahead or behind, but to instead just savor the present. This also starts with me accepting that I can only do as much as I can, and that I simply will not be able to do it all… And that’s okay!

Today I am once again linking-up with Heather over at Housewife Glamour for Friday Favorites!

Moochie & Co.

Tim and I were in Moochie & Co. Saturday to purchase Tebow a new Fluff &Tuff toy when the sweetest Christmas charity project caught my eye. Moochie & Co. partnered with Adore-A-Bull Rescue to sponsor dogs in the program.

Adore-A-Bull Rescue Sponsor TreeBasically you picked a dog off the Sponsor Tree and purchased a gift off the pup’s ‘wish list.’

Adore-A-Bull Rescue Sponsor TreeTim and I decided to choose Oliver, because unfortunately no one had sponsored him yet. (Seriously, let the water works flow! I did right in the middle of the store! Tim can’t take me anywhere, ha!)

As two dog lovers, Tim and I were eager to give sweet Oliver a toy for Christmas! We even wrote him a card and signed Tebow’s name on it as well! I know, we are corny dog parents, but it did hit me how fortunate we are to have been given Tebow as our pet and I am so happy he has a safe, warm home with plenty of food, treats, toys and belly rubs. However, some dogs are not quite as lucky and it is important to give to them during the holiday season too! I just wanted to share this program with all of you in case this type of donation interested you and perhaps your local Moochie and Co. (or local pet store!) is doing something similar as well!

Hallmark Channel Christmas Movies

If you are a Christmas lover like me, then you are definitely going to want to check out the Hallmark Channel’s Christmas movies! I know they are corny, but there is nothing like wrapping gifts by the Christmas tree while watching a cheerful holiday movie. It always puts me in the Christmas mood, and honestly, I don’t think people watch these types of movies for the ‘depth’ anyways! These movies are supposed to be lighthearted and a cliché, but that is half the fun! You don’t have to be completely focused to understand the plot, so it is a great way to multitask while still soaking in the holiday spirit! So bake those Christmas cookies, wrap those gifts or decorate the tree with a Christmas movie on; you won’t regret it!

Blue Buffalo Santa Snacks

I am not purposely having a dog theme today, but the topic seems to just keep popping up! These Santa Snacks are just the cutest dog treats ever!

Blue Buffalo Santa Snacks

They come in different shapes like stars, gingerbread men and Christmas trees, and they are baked with oatmeal and cinnamon!  Tebow is obsessed with them and we are happy to give them to him because a) They are made with great ingredients; b) They are tiny so we can give him more treats although he is actually not getting as much as he thinks; and c) They are just so festive and fun! We bought him Boo Snacks during the fall and he loved those, so we went with Christmas snacks during this season. What can I say, I love anything seasonal for both myself…and my dog!

Cauliflower Mac and Cheese

When I saw this recipe on Pinterest from Chocolate and Carrots, I knew I had to give it a try! Any chance I get to have macaroni and cheese I take, but for the chance to have healthified macaroni and cheese I take even faster!

Cauliflower Mac and CheeseThis wasn’t the easiest recipe I have ever made, so I may suggest making it on the weekend, but it truly was worth the process! I followed the recipe pretty exact using freshly-grated sharp cheddar cheese along with Greek yogurt for the sauce. I did use Almond Milk in place of the milk and I think it worked out great! I also was not able to fit all of the cauliflower in my blender for the cheese sauce, so I instead added some whole pieces of cauliflower to the macaroni for an extra bit of veggie throughout the entire dish. It turned out absolutely delicious, and I have been enjoying leftovers for lunch this whole week!

Conversation Time.

  • Have you ever struggled with focusing on the present, and not the past or future? How do you stay present in the moment?
  • What piece of clothing are you in the market for this winter? (HINT – Merchant 31 Aztec Sweater for the win!!)
  • Are you participating in any charity or donations this holiday season? Does a pet ‘sponsorship’ similar to the one at Moochie and Co. interest you?
  • Are you a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie fan like me? If so, which one is your favorite?!

Absolutely! I am always a sucker for a good discount! I probably need to remove my email address from so many stores just so I won’t spend money! 😉

  3. I totally was one that always looked ahead when I was younger. I feel like I’m getting better about the whole present thing, but I still struggle with it at times. Having a baby has put things into perspective A LOT for me!

Still loving that sweater… Off to check it out! Now I just need to convince Cody to let me get it. 😉
