Monday Motivation

Monday Motivation

Good morning!!

I was up pretty late watching the Super Bowl last night, and needless to say my house is feeling a little tired and a little sad on this Monday.  We decided to take this morning off from the gym in exchange for a little more sleep.  I am not going to lie, I didn’t see that game coming, but unfortunately that is how life goes sometimes. You win some you lose some??  Always a good life lesson whether we want it or not!

Anyways, I still wanted to pop in this morning and say a quick hello to all of you!  To get the week started on a positive note, I thought I would share a little Monday Motivation with all of you in a way of words.

As I look back on my life...

Fitting, yes? Make it a great Monday everyone!

Conversation Time.

  • Did you watch the Super Bowl last night?  What did you think?  Did the team you were rooting for win?  (The game made me sad, commercials were pretty boring, and the highlight was Bruno Mars’ half time show and a certain puppy… See below!)
  • What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?  (I wasn’t a fan of the commercials last night… My favorite was undoubtedly the puppy / Clydesdale Budweiser commercial, but I already knew that one was coming ahead of time… There is just no comparison to that cuteness overload!)
  • What motivation are you using to approach your Monday?

I focus on the REDIRECTED notion a lot.

  2. Disappointing game for the Bronchos for sure. All of the hype for the commercials was not worth it for sure. The only really good one was the puppy! He was the star of the show.

    • HappyWifeHealthyLife says:

Agreed, definitely not a great football night, but the puppy commercial definitely stole the show. Absolutely adorable! Fun night with the family though! :)

  3. Wow that is a beautiful quote! I just love it. I’ve read it numerous times today and it’s so fitting. I did watch the game but didn’t care who won. I went for the food and commercials. Unfortunately, no one else brought food so it was just the food I brought (which I brought plenty anyway) and the commercials stunk haha

Thanks Heather, I couldn’t agree more! When I saw the quote on Pinterest I just knew I wanted to share it on the blog too! Glad you brought a bunch of food to enjoy last night! Since the game didn’t go the way I would have liked, good food, time with family, and the super sweet puppy commercial definitely made my night! :)

  4. OHH that quote is awesome and just what I needed, I love when things like that happen.

We loved the ads this year. I was an ad major in college so I’m always interested to see what they do!

I feel the same way! Quotes and inspiration like the one I shared always seems to speak to my heart. It is even better when you find the perfect one for the perfect moment that encouragement is needed. :)

  5. Oh gosh, I needed that quote this morning more than anything, thank you. I’ve had a rough few months and really rough night last night being rejected by someone who was very important to me. That reminded me that God has a bigger plan for me and I just need to stay faithful.

On another note – I did not watch the superbowl because I’m a huge Chiefs fan and took our loss very hard. Football was too much for me. And, as much as I hate the Broncos and Peyton Manning this year, I’m sorry for your loss. I know it’s never fun to watch your team lose when you put your heart into cheering for them.

    • HappyWifeHealthyLife says:

Hey Katie! I am so glad the quote touched you this morning. I think we all go through those times of humbling like you spoke about last week, and rejection can definitely be one of those intense humbling times. It is nice to be reminded to stay the course and keep moving forward, and that sometimes rejection is needed to get us where we are really meant to go!

Lol thank you for the sympathy, I understand how hard it can be for a Chiefs fan to have that for a Broncos fan… :) It is definitely never fun when your team loses, but again, rejection and loss is such a part of life! (Unfortunately lol!)

  6. Love this quote! I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. :)

By the way, tough loss last night. :( I was rooting for them!!!

I love it too! Such a good reminder that rejection doesn’t have to be considered all bad… There can definitely be good behind it if we just keep looking and moving forward!

Ahh thanks girl! So, so sad! Thankfully Peyton is such a class act though and after the way he handled everything yesterday, I respect him even more as a player and a person!

  7. LOVE this quote!
The hubs and I didn’t really care who won the game although my hubs had a bet that Denver would win so that sucked.
The puppy commercial was the best and cutest!
    Have a great Monday!

Thanks so much! I am glad you like the quote, and I figured we could all use a little encouragement on a Monday morning! Agreed, the puppy commercial was the bright spot of the night! ;)

  8. Love it!! Mondays are always just a little dose of ‘rough’ so that was a good read :) Have a good day, sweet girl!!

Ahh I agree! Mondays are great because it’s a fresh start, but it is never fun to say goodbye to that weekend freedom! Hope you are having a great day as well! :)

  9. So sorry for your Broncos! :( Cody and I aren’t fans of either team, but we were rooting for the Broncos and were sad to see them lose.

Great motivation too! Thanks so much for the reminder girlfriend! xoxo

Thanks Ash! I am sorry too lol :( Losing is never fun, but thankfully Peyton Manning truly is such a class act! Wow – I hope someday to learn how to lose with as much class, grace and respect as he does!

You are welcome! I think we all needed a little encouragement on our Monday! xo

  10. What a great quote! I think this can apply to so many areas in life. I didn’t watch the Super Bowl last night. My husband went to a friend’s get-together, but I opted to stay at home for some relaxation with a good book and piece and quiet. We’re Bears fans, but he was cheering for the Bronco’s as he loves Peyton Manning.

Thanks so much Kim, this quote definitely spoke to me as well! Trust me when I say that last night I would have rather have stayed at home with a good book too… The game definitely made me sad! It is hard not to cheer for Peyton Manning, he is such a class act that’s for sure! :)

  11. What a wonderful quote! And something we all need reminded of. Especially in those hard times when things aren’t seeming to go our way.

Hopefully your sweet little fam is getting over the loss last night. I don’t really have a vested interest in either team, but I was cheering on the Broncos. I think a loss like that definitely calls for a little comforting…maybe in the form of chocolate?!

Thanks Sarah! I definitely need reminded of this daily as it seems at least one thing doesn’t go my way each day! ;)

We are still pretty sad in my house, but hopefully time will heal our pain lol! I think I wanted a win for Peyton more than for myself… He is just such a class act both on and off the field!

Oh and if you think I need chocolate, just wait for tomorrow’s post! You will love it! :)

  12. I watched some of the Super Bowl, but I ended up falling asleep in the 3rd quarter!

  13. Hey Jana,

I’m not a massive super bowl fan so I won’t chime in on that but I really liked your quote and found it extremely powerful. One thing that I find is that the grass is always is greener on the other side and as we human hate change, being rejected feels very scary. What’s incredible though is our ability to bounce back, often for something better due to the learnings of our past failures.

    Love this!

Thank you so much for your comment, and I think you make a great point – being rejected can absolutely not just hurt, but it can feel scary too. Without ‘failures’ though, we wouldn’t appreciate the good and the achievements as much. Learning how to look at rejection from a proactive way will definitely lead us toward more successes in life! :)

  14. Happy Monday! (now Tuesday!!) So sorry your team didn’t win…we were rooting for Denver too since we are moving there in august!
