Pregnancy Posts: Week 29

Week 28 of pregnancy was such a good one, but week 29 was great as well! I was able to visit the gym three times, go on some walks, had my baby shower and baby boy has been moving like crazy lately.

Nothing too crazy happened during Week 29, which was definitely a blessing. I would much rather take ‘boring’ than ‘eventful’ during pregnancy.  Since I had my beautiful baby shower the week before, (I will be sharing more about the shower Thursday on the blog!), it was nice to have a week that was a bit more laid back.

I have still been wearing my pregnancy belt for workouts and it is making a huge difference. I forgot it one morning and was shocked with what a difference it makes in my workouts. Without the belt I feel heavy and have a lot of lower abdomen pressure, but with the belt I feel much more like my pre-pregnancy self. I still highly recommend a belt purchase for all of you mommas-to-be out there!

At this point in pregnancy, I really haven’t found myself having as many cravings like I did in the earlier weeks. Most of my cravings from the first trimester had to do with simply surviving and being able to eat what sounded good. This amounted in a lot of bagels, dry cheerios, little-to-no fruits and veggies, and anything salty.

I did however crave Mexican food on Friday so my mom and I went to a restaurant by my office for lunch. I had a taco salad and a side of guacamole that absolutely hit the spot and was delicious. I am telling you friends, I could easily eat this every. single. day.

Taco Salad

I don’t know what it is about Mexican food this pregnancy, but if I could think of one thing I have really craved the entire time it’s been Mexican. Oh, and salt-and-vinegar kettle cooked potato chips – those things are my kryptonite!

Now that I’ve had my baby shower, we are really starting to think about getting the nursery together and finishing up our baby-necessity shopping. Our goal is to get the nursery painted (a subtle off-white color) and the new carpet in before our vacation later next month. We are hoping to have everything nice and organized by then just in case Baby ‘A’ makes an arrival earlier than expected.

My mom and I are going shopping this Friday to get a few things still on the list – which will hopefully include a dresser for the nursery. I would love to find a dresser that has a couple baskets for storing toys, but if not, then I may get a separate little bookcase if I think there is room.

I am also in the market for a set of curtains, a crib mattress and waterproof mattress pad, his changing pad and cover, a baby carrier, and some other items that we will need. I also need to get him some more sleepers and onesies since that is what he will be wearing for most of his first few months. I also realized that I still need to get a few hooded baby towels, his bathtub, and silly little things like baby nail clippers and bottle brushes. It is nice now that I’ve had my shower because I can distinguish what I really need with what I want!

  2. Mmmm Mexican food! I wasn’t into it for awhile there, but it’s back with a vengeance again lately. 😉 So fun that you get to do some shopping! I have several things on my list to buy yet too, but I’m going to wait until we get back from our vacation to tackle all of that. But then, it’s down to business! Glad to hear you’re feeling great!

I know the feeling! The past month and a half has been crazy busy and we’ve been out of town a lot, which means we really need to get our booties into gear with prepping and planning for baby. I felt like the first trimester went slow, the second fast, and now the third is flying! Have a great time on your vacation!!

  3. I need to check out that belt- I would wear it all day! My lower back is killing me and I’m only 24 weeks along!

Yes definitely check out the belt! It is such a lifesaver if you want to stay active while pregnant. It helps to take so much pressure off of my lower abdomen, back and shoulders!

I highly recommend the 4moms infant tub. It is anazing! My baby is 7 months old and still loves it. The digital thermometer makes sure the water is in the perfect range.

I have that on my registry, but haven’t gotten it yet! I was debating going with a cheaper tub, but now that you’ve recommended it I am back looking at it again. I love the thermometer + how it keeps the water filtering out for a clean bath!

  5. Girl we had mexican food Monday night and again for lunch today!! Hahaha the mexican craving is INTENSE!!! Love that you were able to hang out with your mom for lunch, so jealous! I literally just sent my mom a video of adeline kicking 🙂 Yay you for going to the gym!! I’m glad you are feeling so great! Hard to believe you’re almost in your 30’s!! Week wise, of course haha. Also, we registered for an Ergo and a Baby K’Tan carrier based on all the recommendations from our friends!

I think I have had Mexican at least four times in the past 6 days! I actually work about 45 minutes from my mom since I got my new job (we used to only be about 10 minutes apart!), but I got lucky that she had a meeting near my office. It worked out great for a quick lunch!

I know – I cannot believe I am in the ’30’s’ for this pregnancy! Time is absolutely flying. Thanks for the carrier ideas! I am going to look into both. I know there are a ton out there and it is hard to narrow down to my favorite!
