26 – The Most Perspective Changing Year of My Life

Today marks the beginning of my 27th year and the end of what was probably the most growing and changing time of my life so far. It was in year 26 that I became a mother and was given the most beautiful gift I could ever receive – my son.

I always enjoy reminiscing on the 365 days that came before as I turn yet another year older, so in this post I’m sharing a few of my favorite memories and changes from year 26. I plan on writing a post all about my hopes and goals for 27 within the next week or two, but until then I thought I would simply share highlights from what could be described as the most perspective changing year of my life to date.

Here are a few of my past birthday posts:

One Month Update - Baby Jack

Year 26 absolutely had its tough moments, but it also brought with it more joy than I could have ever imagined. It is so funny how life works. This time last year I had absolutely no idea that by my next birthday I would be a mother to a beautiful baby boy! Our paths can change in the blink of an eye and it’s nearly impossible to imagine what the next year will bring. Age 26 will be hard to beat, but I have high hopes for 27 as well. One thing is for certain though, I plan on making many many more beautiful memories with my boys and soaking in as many laughs and smiles, and as much cuddling and time together as I can!

  1. What a beautiful post to wake up to!!! I just got back from three romantic weeks in Europe with my husband/best friend and today I am spending with my daughter my other best friend. Life’s so fleeting and precious. Soak up every minute and the hard patches makes us oh so much appreciative of the good. Enjoy your beautiful family along life’s journey, but always remember, the means are so much more important then the end.

Happy Happy Birthday! Hope you are pampered and spoiled today! You’ve been through so much recently and you deserve it!!

  3. Jana, I think the picture above of you holding Jack is the most beautiful I have ever seen you. Being a new mama makes 27 years look fantastic on you! Have the most wonderful year of your life, Jana! Love to you, Tim, Jack, Tebow, and Grandma and Grandpa Thompson!

  4. Happy belated birthday!! I really enjoy reading your blog, it’s one of my favorites! 🙂

  3. Welcoming 28 says:

[…] On my 27th birthday, I chose ‘Perspective-Changing’ and ‘Life-Changing’ to describe my 26th year. During 26 I began a new job, found out I was pregnant, became a mother, and did my best at finding my way as a new parent. That’s a lot of change all at once, but said changes also grew me in a way that I didn’t know I could be grown. I found out that I was stronger than I thought and that I could handle and prosper in a changing environment, something this routine-lover didn’t know she had it in her. […]
