Jack’s Three Month Update

It’s hard to believe that my little guy is three months old already! Somewhere in the past 12+ weeks he went from being a tiny, fragile newborn to a smiley, happy baby.

Jack's Three Month Update

Jack has such a precious, happy and loving demeanor. He always wants to be held and cuddled, and gets upset easily if you try to put him down and he’s not ready to be on his own. He is happiest in the mornings and loves cuddle sessions after his breakfast. I am obsessed with his gummy smiles and sweet cooing sounds as he’s being rocked and held, and told over and over again how much he is loved.

Jack's Three Month Update

Jack loves watching football with his daddy, and although television is obviously quite frowned upon at this age, we let him watch sports every once in awhile. It’s amazing how he’ll literally sit and watch every play of the game, so fixated on each movement the players make. There have been times when we even let him tune into a show during his 7 o’clock ‘witching’ hour if need be. Now granted we limit his viewing, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures and you have to do what you have to do!

Jack's Three Month Update

We call the 7:00pm-8:00pm time his witching hour, and it honestly has everything to do with his fighting sleep. By this time of the evening he is exhausted and needs to go to bed, but he also doesn’t want to miss a thing around him! Usually all it takes is a solid 10 minutes of walking around and rocking while he pacis for my sweet boy to fall fast asleep.

Jack's Three Month Update

Speaking of sleep, Jack is a champion sleeper and regularly stays in bed from 9:30-5:30 during the work week! I get up at 5:00, take my shower and get ready, and then usually have to wake him up at 5:30 to eat before I leave. During the weekend when we want to sleep in until 7:00 or 8:00, we typically still lay him down at 9:00 or 10:00, but get up around 2:30 to wake him and feed him. This helps him to sleep a little longer in the morning so we don’t have to start our day quite as early when we don’t have to. Although I thought he would be in his crib by 12 weeks, he is still in his pack-and-play in our room and that works perfectly for us right now. He pretty much never wakes up during the night, and I feel like I sleep better having him near us still. Maybe in a month or two we will revisit this decision, but for now we love having our whole family (including Tebow!) in the same room.

Jack's Three Month Update

During the past four weeks I have really seen Jack’s personality blossom and I love starting to see his likes and dislikes as he adapts to and takes in the world around him.

Jack loves:

Happy three months Jack Timothy!!

Look how big he’s getting ! Our little guy is obsessed with tv as well! I vowed prior that he woundn’t watch tv at all but it’s the only time he sits still! He’s such a mover !!! I loved the 3 month longer stretch of sleep! Now our bambino thinks it’s fun to get up once a night which is still not awful but I’m not ready to sleep train him yet … He feeds quickly then right back down ! You’re doing awesome mama and he’s such a cutie !!!

It is so funny all of the ‘promises’ us moms make pre-baby. If there is one thing that I’ve learned it’s that each baby/mom/and situation is different and we all have to do what is best for our family and our child! We are starting to have some sleep issues within the past 10 days or so. I think it has to do with the 4-month sleep regression I have been reading about. Also, we think he is teething so I am sure that has a lot to do with it. I am hoping it is just temporary though and that we can get back into our sleep routine again quickly! 🙂

  2. So precious!!!! He is changing so much! It’s amazing how much better life feels with a little more sleep, hahaha. I sometimes let Adeline watch TV with me as well, I figure her blurry eyes can barely see it anyways! I’m so glad you guys are doing better and you’re on the mend! Jack looks happy as a clam, that smile!!! Oh my goodness too sweet!!! Desperate times for sure…the other day I had to put Adeline in the car and just drive around aimlessly to get her to stop crying. It was awful, but at least I got out of the house for a bit 🙂 You’re doing great mama!!

I am glad I’m not the only one on the tv bandwagon lol! Sometimes us mamas have to do what we have to do for our own family and own child. My motto when it comes to Jack is ‘whatever works!’ 😉

  3. He’s adorable! Yay for sleeping through the night! Annabelle loves the TV! It’s just the lights and stuff she loves but I still try so hard not to let her watch it. She definitely does more when she’s with daddy, haha. I am so happy to hear you are on the mend. Hope you had a great Christmas!
