Well friends, this past month has been such a busy time for my family. As you all now know, we closed on our first home yesterday, so the weeks lately have been filled with planning, moving and preparing for a big change. Now that we’ve signed the papers and handed over the keys, it feels good to start getting settled in as we plan our build. I hope to share a lot about the process of building here on the blog, and I’m looking forward to bringing you along for the journey!
Later today we leave for our spring trip to Florida and I can hardly wait for a little sunshine and warmth! Winter has refused to go quietly, and I’m more than ready to trade in my wool coat for a summer dress. At least for a few days!
After next week, I’m looking forward to getting back into more of a routine with everything from Jack’s activities to writing for the blog, to sharing and working on my Beautycounter business to working out and eating healthy. I’ve been living in limbo for awhile and I’m ready to have more of a plan again! Who knows, I may even find a little time for some reading and completing Jack’s baby book and photo albums I’ve been meaning to do.
Sea Salt Spray Giveaway!
In honor of our trip to Florida, I thought it would be fun to do a little beach/pool-themed giveaway! Starting today through Wednesday March 22, anyone who make a Beautycounter purchase and / or likes my Beautycounter Facebook page will be entered to win a bottle of Beautycounter’s Sea Salt Spray! You can earn two entries by making a purchase and liking my page. I’m getting close to 100 likes on Facebook, and am hoping to hit that mark so soon! –> PS: If you don’t already follow this blog’s Facebook page, you can do so here.
I love the Sea Salt Spray for creating beachy, tousled waves and for creating volume on hair dried and straightened using a round brush. A little goes a long way as the product is condensed, so a bottle of this spray could easily last you all spring and into summer. If you want to learn more about my experience with it and how I create beachy waves at home, visit this post.
Foam Rolling 101
I’ve read countless articles about how good foam rolling is for your body, especially after an intense workout. However, when I’m in the gym I feel anxiety over that little piece of exercise equipment because I don’t know how to use it properly. I thought this article from LaurenConrad.com titled Shape Up: The Fit Girl’s Guide to Foam Rolling 101 was a great read filled with tips for foam rolling newbies like me. It explains how to stretch everything from your IT Bands to your Glutes and Hip Flexors. Definitely a post I pinned to my fitness board for later!
25 Verses to Pray Over Your Marriage
Marquis, the blogger behind Simply Clarke, is constantly sharing encouraging and save-worthy posts regarding bible verses and prayers for all areas of life. I ran across this post titled 25 Verses to Pray Over Your Marriage and knew it was one I would want to reference back to. I am constantly praying for my husband and family, but I don’t often correlate prayers with verses the way I should. A couple of the verses that really stood out to me were Proverbs 22:29, Psalm 46:1 and Ephesians 4:1-2.
Touch of Gray Designs Etsy Shop
I had a lot of questions about where I ordered Jack’s mickey onesie from so I thought I would share about the Etsy shop I chose. I started doing research a couple months ago for a personalize shirt, but I didn’t want to spend a whole bunch. With that being said, I also was looking for decent quality. I ran across a Touch of Gray Designs shop on Etsy and was happy with the price, and that the design and name were embroidered and not screen printed. Andrea was very easy to work with, and she got the shirt to me in less than two weeks. I am pairing the onesie with these shorts from Gap for Jack to wear to Magic Kingdom.
Unfancy Closet Tour
I’ve shared about the blog Unfancy a lot here on the blog. Caroline does such an amazing job of pairing classic pieces in new ways, and her style is right up my alley. Earlier this week she shared a peek into her closet, and my mouth literally fell open. Talk about a dream closet! You know when you go into a store like Madewell and wish that all of those items could be found in your own closet? That is exactly how I felt when I took a tour of Caroline’s closet. Love, love, love her style!
