Home Building Series: Moving Week!

Well friends, we’ve finally made it to moving week! It’s been a long process that all started with this post last March when I shared that we sold our first home. Well, in reality it started in September 2016 when we put our house on the market, but needless to say it’s been a long time coming.

Home Building Series: Moving Week

We already started moving a few things over the weekend, but Wednesday we are officially supposed to get our keys and can finally move into our home – for good! Unfortunately we don’t have our concrete poured or any landscaping done due to the cold temps this past month, but the goal is to start these projects in March. Until then, we will kind of be living with a muddy mess as our yard. Right now though we just want to get in, get situated and get organized! We are so, so ready!

I shared a few update posts on Instagram Stories Friday, and also addressed one of the biggest things that I’m most excited about after the move. Right now I am currently commuting one hour each way on Thursdays and Fridays for my job, and now I will only be traveling about 40 minutes roundtrip. I’ve been getting up at 4:30 every morning to get situated and Savannah fed and happy for the day before leaving at 6:00, so it will be so nice to get another 40 minutes or so of sleep on those two days. Trust me, when you’re a tired mom who is already getting up multiple times a night to nurse your baby, any extra minute of sleep feels like an answered prayer!

Later this week, I’ll share a few update pictures of the house in another post. I want to share what the empty space looks like before we move everything in, and how the rooms have transformed through the home building process. The rest of this week will be spent packing, unpacking, and working to take this house we have yearned for the last year, and truly turn it into our home. I also plan to take time to pray over each room of the house. A prayer for comfort, protection, and joy for all who abide there and all who come to visit. I am hopeful that this place becomes a true retreat, and place of peace for our family.
